fifty-two on fridays: week 19 | temecula family photographer

this week’s 52 on Fridays theme has had me stumped until the very last moment. i imagined a cool David Bowie cover with a big fun shoot with crazy extravaganzas. Chris had even suggested i shoot the kids in their Escalade Power Wheels and do a rap album cover. there were even talks of a Kris Kross edition but I’m sure there would have been a trecherous revolt from the wee ones ending with bloodshed…

we got home from Sea World last night and at 910pm, i walked into my boy’s room complete with dirty shoes, stinky socks and dirt smudges on the floor. beat from the sun and dolphin feedings, he was out like a light. i didn’t even have a chance to say good night and so i just sat on the floor and smelled the scent only a 4 year old’s room can hold. one of the many books on the floor was this one illustrated to follow along with the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young”; a fantastic song of a parent’s blessing to their child. i opened it to read and drum up some inspiration to shoot this morning and instead, i simply propped it up next to his smelly shoes and Darth Vadar night light because it just all fit somehow.
