temecula photographer | fifty-two on fridays: week 28

well, after last week’s sad photo of “FREE” for 52 on Fridays, i felt the need to spread a little joy with this week’s theme “SUMMER”. then again, its a little hard to not have bright happy fun in the summer. It sure does have its perks: lemonade, late day dips in the pool and my favorite, flip flops. for the sake of honesty, i’ve never been much of a summer gal. there is just the unfortunate fact that im as pale as pale can be, so im forced to put on SPF 50 a dozen times or so a day. I’m partial to the fall and winter seasons with their rain, boots and jackets (and the absence of eau de toilette sunscreen). i’m a home body by nature and those seasons seem to bring even more of that out in me. after moving to southern california 5 years ago, i couldn’t help but fall deeply in love with summer. i mean it lasts at least 10 months out of the year so i better get used to it!

lately its been so hot, we cant even make it to the park in fear of burning our behinds on the scorching hot slide so we spend a lot of the time in the good ol’ backyard. after watering the tomatoes the other night, my Jack asked if he could play with the garden hose. there is nothing like a hot summer afternoon and the spraying of water this way and that.
